Long Mapping is an essential study to the Creek Project. This study not only plots out a very accurate map of the creek, but also gives permanent references for all the other studies to use so that they can keep their data constant and work at their site. The mapping of the creek gives us an idea as to how the creek has changed over time in the flow of the water and the shape and the stucture of the bank through erosion and soil buildup. A side job of the Long Mapping team is to give directions to the creek's various sites, as very few, if any, are labeled SITE "X" or are able to be found on MapQuest.
