Vertebrate Census "Vertebrates"
The Vertebrate Census study keeps count of birds and other vertebrates around the sites of the creek. The health of the creek can be determined from the number of animals sighted along the creek. The team, thus, must have a strong knowledge of the birds and their tracks in the region. Outings occur mostly during early morning, dawn or dusk. The study collects data by writing their sightings in a scats and tracks book. During sighting, any signs of scats are collected and contained in a Ziploc bag. If tracks are seen, the team uses Plaster of Paris to create a mold of the tracks.
